viz_tank :: un répertoire de dispositifs de visualisation
viz_tank est un répertoire de dispositifs de visualisation, en ligne, proposant une catégorisation en sept paramètres
(espace, temps, architecture, documentation, terminologie, contextualisation, incertitude) de ces dispositifs.
Il inclut des dispositifs de visualisation anciens comme récents, et les présente sous la forme d'une vignette renvoyant vers une ou des images et vers un explicatif PPT incluant
le cas échéant des liens url ou des éléments de bibliographie.
L'objectif de ce répertoire est d'une part de capitaliser de courtes
analyses de dispositifs emblématiques, exemplaires (mais pas toujours en bien),
et d'autre part de les rendre accessible sous une forme synthétique et struturée à fins de
support aux efforts de dissemination et d'enseignement.
Le système en ligne autorise un niveau basique d'interactions, et notamment de tri thématisé.

viz_tank is an online repository of infovis disposals, structured according to the set of seven parameters
(space, time, architecture, documentation, terminology, contextualisation, uncertainty).
What a parameter says about a given visualisation is basically that "what is shown in teh visualisation includes / relates to" that parameter.
The repository encompasses old and recent works. Each visualisation is represented by a
thumbnail that gives access to larger images and to a PPT file where comments, explanations, and when relevant url / biliography are included.
The aim of this initiative is primarily to secure a lasting and structured access to short analyses of selected infovis solutions, solutions that can be seen as emblematic,
exmeplary (for better or worse).
The project also aims at supporting dissemination efforts in a variety odf situation ranging from communication to teaching.
The online system allows for limited but useful interactions, e.g. subselections based on the seven parameters.
